Windows Seven, a fresh experience!

I've been busy last few days upgrading my system and installing Windows Seven. I didn't like Vista when it came out, a lot of incompatible software and annoyances forced me back to Windows XP. The box just got home yesterday and it has been impressive so far - but whatever you do, DON'T install ZoneAlarm 8 or lower as there are horrible compatibility issues that would mess up the system; instead go for the new 2010 version. :3

The weekend visit... cheer or cry?

As mentioned in my last post, I had to visit my boss' eight year old daughter over the weekends. While I entered her house I was still asking myself "Why am I even here?," that thought came to a halt the moment a pretty little pixie rushed out for me... offering me a wonderfully craved (wooden) starfish. I brightened up instantly. As unrealistic as it sounds, I instantly knew I was facing an adorable real life version of Fuuko Ibuki from Clannad anime.

I was instantly a big hit with her for following up with her very fuuokish routine. Although her mother wanted me to discourage her, I SOOO wanted to make her a cosplay outfit... of course I wasn't ready to get fired yet. T-T

I have to admit tho, Fuuko Ibuki is a very strange character... and those who haven't watched the anime can mistake the little girl for ... umm having somewhat loose screws. Anyway, it went well. I played with her a lot that even she got tired of it. Aren't I ever so nice? :3

To otaku or not to otaku... is the question.

At my evening part-time job today, a computer peripherals and repair store where I'm in charge of speakers and sound systems. My boss came to me and asked for advice. Now, my boss is a middle-aged woman who is both intelligent and beautiful. She was genuinely worried that her 8 year old daughter was becoming an elite otaku, an otaku is just a person with an obsessive interest in anything but mostly animes, manga, games etc. However, they are greatly misunderstood in today's society.

In her daughter's case it was anime and cuteness overload (good taste in my humble opinion! *glomps chibi-chan*). The trouble is, the kid adapts to the personality and behavior of ANY of her favorite characters in a series she presently seems to be watching. Everyone at the store knows that I have a healthy addiction towards anything anime, BUT I'm an adult so I can keep things in moderation and not make a fool out of myself. :3

Well my boss wanted me to meet her daughter later this weekend and set her straight, hoping that she might listen to me - a fellow anime lover. (I could have sworn she was going to say fellow otaku, how rude!) ^-^'

Sweepwy and tired? Don't stay up!

Well, it was a wonderful morning BUT I just had to get up with a headache, sore neck, and impossibly uncooperative eyelids. Of course I shouldn't complain, because it was entirely my fault to stay up all night during a work day. Now, what was I doing all night? Hmmm. I'll leave that to your imagination... :3

Oh.. you. Stop such thoughts. How could you even think that?

Actually, I was merely finishing up Maximum Ride book by James Patterson. It was good and refreshing change from Dean Koontz and Lee Child's Reacher books. But I've heard that Patterson writes with quite a dark pen on his novels for adults too. Well that's for me to think later, better get back to bed now ~ I mean I've already lost half the day and two of my part-time jobs after all. Yaye! ~.~

Why some customers shouldn't shop!

Alright, so I got up today to find out I've run out of groceries ~ yaye! ~.~

For those that don't know me, let it be known that I can get pretty upset to start a day without a solid breakfast. So, there I went to a cafe to get breakfast and then on to a grocery shopping spree to stock up. I found the following exchange between the store employee and a customer pretty amusing... until I got dragged into it.
Other Customer: "The buns I bought from you does not taste like chicken at all!"
Worker: "Sorry sir, what was that again?"
Other Customer
: "Just what kind of chicken are these buns made of?" (he was literally shouting now).
Worker
: "Sir, they are buns; they are not made of chicken..."
Other Customer
: "I need your manager right NOW!"
(The manager shows up and begins talking to the person. I pass by and check out my stuff at the next counter trying my best to ignore the man, then looking at my cart he suddenly turns to me...)
Other Customer
: "Young lady, would you tell these people that these buns are wrong? These are sweet and flavorless. These possibly can't be made with chicken!"
Me
: *startled* "Oh... Umm" (The worker and the manager stare at me intently hoping that the other customer would take my word).
Other Customer
: "Well? you bought plenty of it."
Me
: "Actually these are breakfast buns; they are sweet because its made with honey, butter, and flour." (Then I quickly turn to pay and pickup my stuff)
Other Customer
: *laughs out loud* "Look here, I'm not sure what you all are trying to pull here; buns are NOT made with flour..."
Me
: *wondering which planet he came from* "Umm... you're right. I'm don't know what came over me, these definitely are not made with chicken. In this store they make it tofu, now if you'll excuse me I have to get going. Take care!" (I put up fake smile, and a nod)
Other Customer
: *completely calm, and smiling again* "Oh... is that all? Geez these guys should have told me just that."
(Both the worker and the manager stood there staring at the person speechlessly.)

Phew... for the sake of my sanity I better shop elsewhere from now on. Also, I think I should make sure not to get a part-time job in a grocery store just to be safe. *nods* *nods*

Something fresh, Maximum Ride?

Recently all books I've read had at least one person being murdered or at least had some darkness to it. I haven't read any books by James Patterson, so I thought I'll give it a try. A friend mentioned a light one to try would be Maximum Ride. It's mainly targeted towards kids, so it should be safe enough for me to retreat my weary mind to. Besides it has a managa style graphic novel illustrated by Narae Lee. There are two volumes released to date, so don't dare hold me back. I'll finish the book first though :3

Confronting the Avatar hype!

Hi there, hope you are good today?

Well after hearing people rave about the movie for so long, I managed to get myself to see the avatar movie. It was indeed good and personally the graphics were breathtaking!

You really MUST see it in 3D though to get the full awe inspiring effect. For those who have yet to watch it, I'd personally ask you to give it a fair try. If nothing else it will be two hours worth of yummie eye-candy. :3

Welcome to my world!

Okay. So... I've been bored lately and decided to log some parts of my wonderfully insignificant life! :)

My name is Ange, and I'm a 21 year old girl who is done with college. I've got good grades, but who knows where all that knowledge went? Oh well, it is a mystery that would require some serious thinking in the future. I live with my ever so cure pet bunny Hellie, if it wasn't for the broken camera I'd have posted her smiling face for all to see. Speaking of which, can bunnies actually smile? Something to think about, hmm...

In Ange's Happenings blog I'll be posting some of my daily or weekly events that may be of interest to me. So, that's all for now. I've filled out my blogger profile really well. Feel free to have a read through. *hugs*
